Harmony Bay

A modern day mystery, drawn from covert events of the American Revolution, weaves through the story.

Harmony Bay offers an adventurous slice of waterfront life where a modern-day mystery is drawn from covert events of the American Revolution. This sweet and compelling novel is a perfect read for anyone seeking a blend of history, romance, and small-town charm.

The story centers on Dory, a single mother, and her son, James, as they discover the unique community of Harmony Bay. The town, with its bayside setting and surrounding hills, is vividly brought to life through Gahan's detailed descriptions of boating, fishing, and aquatic life, revealing both the physical beauty and the psychological makeup of its fictional inhabitants.

Colorful Characters and Life Lessons

James' character is forged by his adventures in Harmony Bay, learning a new lesson about life each day—from harrowing, life-and-death experiences on the water to youthful forays into the surrounding hills.

He encounters many wonderful individuals who shape his story, including:

Billy, an intellectual recluse and a physically powerful man with a snowy white beard, whose mysterious nature inspires local speculation. Billy is always accompanied by his magnificent Newfoundland retriever, Angus, and a beautiful white mare named Chloe.

Jake Kane, the local marine biologist and hero, who sweeps Dory off her feet, adding a central element of romance. James learns a great deal from Jake and the dozens of other colorful inhabitants of this amazing waterfront community.

Written for a wide audience, Harmony Bay has been selected as required reading at various high schools and chosen by numerous book clubs for its broad appeal and examination of small-town life.
